The icon for form elements of type Upload.

Functionality

Form elements of type Upload add an upload element to the form for uploading files that will be send together with the form data when the form is submitted. You can also add a label in the properties panel label of the Xima® Formcycle Designer.

Additional base properties for upload elements, such as the image preview.

When the image preview is enabled and the user select an image, a thumbnail of that image is shown. When the user select a file other than an image, a general icon is shown.

Basic settings for Base properties

This form element possesses the following additional properties for the section Base properties.

NameDescription
Image previewWhen checked, displays a thumbnail of the file the user selected. For image files this is a scaled down version of that image. For other files, a file icon is shown.

The constraints let you restrict the allowed file types and the maximum file size.

Constraints

Basic settings for Constraints

This form element possesses the following additional properties for the section Constraints.

NameDescription
Max. sizeMaximum size for the uploaded file in kilobytes.
ExtensionsComma separated list of allowed file extensions the user may upload. Only files with the given extensions may be uploaded by users. File extenstions may start with or without a dot. For example pdf or .pdf will restrict uploads to PDF files.

You can also specify a file name to be used instead of the original file name.

Label

This form element possesses the following additional properties for the section Label.

NameDescription
File nameWhen no name is specified, the uploaded file will be saved with its original name. Otherwise, this name is used for saving the file on the server.
